Kim Dong Publishing House has introduced a book series on the Vietnam People’s Air Force during the resistance war against the United States by Colonel Nguyen Cong Huy, marking the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026).
The series includes three titles: Vu Xuan Thieu and the Immortal Flight, 19 Aces of Vietnam, and Stories of a Fighter Pilot. Among them, the book on Vu Xuan Thieu recreates the life, ideals, and achievements of the pilot who shot down a B-52 during the 1972 “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air” campaign, becoming a symbol of courage and dedication.
19 Aces of Vietnam portrays 19 outstanding MiG pilots, reflecting intense aerial battles and the bravery of the air force. Meanwhile, Stories of a Fighter Pilot recounts the author’s own journey from enlistment and pilot training in the Soviet Union to the tense combat readiness missions over Northern Vietnam.
The series holds both documentary and educational value, helping readers gain a deeper understanding of the lives, combat experiences, and sacrifices of Vietnamese pilots, as well as the vital role of the air force in the nation’s historic victory.
