Set in the mid 1980s in a poor village of central Vietnam, the local box office hit from the prolific director Victor Vu is a nostalgic story of two young brothers who vie for the attention and affection of a young girl.

The film, based on an award-winning and best-selling novel by Nguyen Nhat Anh, grossed over US$1 million in its first week in October. It was produced with government funding.

The 2016 TIFF Kids International Film Festival took place on April 10-24, attracting 157 movies from 39 countries and territories worldwide.

The festival is an annual project of the Toronto International Film Festival, a launching pad for the best of international, Hollywood and Canadian cinema.

Committed to involving and engaging children in the critical assessment of films, TIFF Kids has three juries of young film lovers between 8 and 13 years old.
