Bringing together nearly 300 works by 21 painters and sculptors from across Vietnam, the second iteration of the Litaliti exhibition was hosted at the Vietnam National Museum of Fine Arts from September 24-28, 2026. Choosing small dimensions as a shared meeting ground, the showcase invites viewers into a slow, contemplative mode of engagement.

Artists gather at the opening ceremony of the Litaliti exhibition.

First debuting in November 2025, Litaliti has grown into a distinctive artistic forum. Rather than relying on large-scale presence, these works - ranging from 10cm to under 50cm across lacquer, oil, silk, watercolor, ceramic, and wood - demand spatial economy and precise visual language. As artist Nguyen Minh noted, small dimensions force creators to compress color, line, and void, turning physical boundaries into vast conceptual fields.

Artist Vu Thuy Mai observed that while large canvases prompt audiences to step back, small works draw viewers close. In an age dominated by rapid digital imagery, this physical intimacy transforms art viewing into a deliberate act of discovery, revealing brushstrokes, material textures, and quiet intervals.

Beyond presenting diverse artistic voices, Litaliti represents a thriving independent community, fostering professional connection, technique sharing, and meaningful engagement in contemporary Vietnamese fine arts.
