Military units join forces to safeguard peace during National Day celebrations

Ahead of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2, military units across Military Region 9 and key areas in southern Vietnam have stepped up combat readiness, maintaining strict duties and closely monitoring developments to ensure security and safety during the holiday.

A Ministry of National Defense delegation led by Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, inspected several units, commending their sense of responsibility and preparedness.

Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung encourages officers and soldiers of Mechanized Reconnaissance Company 1, Dong Thap Provincial Military Command.

He urged commanders to maintain strict combat-readiness duties, ensure forces and equipment are ready for deployment when ordered, and avoid being caught off guard in any situation.

The delegation also called for close coordination among military units, police and local authorities under Government Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP, with emphasis on monitoring local security and social order and regularly reviewing operational plans.

At Engineer Brigade 25, the delegation observed a combat-readiness alert involving the counter-terrorism unit of Battalion 4. The unit demonstrated orderly deployment, strict discipline and rapid mobilization, with personnel and equipment fully prepared for unexpected missions.

In Dong Thap Province, the Mechanized Reconnaissance Company 1 of the Provincial Military Command also practiced shifting to a higher combat-readiness status. The troops responded swiftly to the alert, maintained seamless communications and coordinated closely.

Lieutenant General Truong Manh Dung urged the units to remain vigilant, strengthen training and coordination, and ensure troops are ready to fulfill their duties, helping people enjoy a peaceful and safe National Day holiday.
