REGULATIONS FOR “LUA MOI” SHORT STORY CONTEST ON THE VAN NGHE QUAN DOI MAGAZINE (2018-2019)

There is no limit to any specific topics for short stories submitted to the contest.

1. Topics: There is no limit to any specific topics for short stories submitted to the contest. Priority is given to works directly reflecting aspects of revolutionary wars, armed forces and soldiers, especially in areas and regions of hardships and where troops are exposed to dangers, such as border areas, seas and islands, etc.
Works which closely reflect the real situation of the contemporary social life of Vietnam will be highlighted.
All composing tendencies are accepted while traditional styles are treasured. New composing styles and innovation with novel thinking into art are encouraged.

2. Who can join: All Vietnamese citizens both at home and overseas

3. Conditions for participation: Works submitted to the contest must be short stories, unlimited in length and having not printed or posted on any media, websites, blogs, social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. of any individuals or organizations. Submitted works must not be printed in any collections of individuals or collections of assorted authors until the end of the contest, except for those printed on the Van nghe Quan doi Magazine.
Long stories and novels are not accepted.
The candidate short stories must be printed one-sidedly and clearly on papers or Microsoft Office Word files with addresses, telephone numbers and emails of the authors.
“Short story for contest” must be written on the works and sent to the Van nghe Quan doi Magazine at No.4, Ly Nam De street, Hanoi; or sent to the magazine via email: vnquandoi@gmail.com.
Works meeting the criteria of the contest will be printed on the Van nghe Quan doi Magazine print and online editions.

4. Prizes:
- 01 First prize
- 02 Second prizes
- 03 Third prizes
- 04 Fourth prizes

5. Time for submission:
Works should be sent to the organizing panel of the contest between January 2018 and the deadline of November 30, 2019 (according to the dates on post office stamps and on emails).
The awarding ceremony will be held on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2019).
