“Dan Chim Viet” (Flock of Vietnamese Birds), a large-scale art programme on Van Cao, a talented musician of the nation, at the Hanoi Opera House on August 20, left many impressions and emotions on audiences.

The show features both inside and outside stages at the Hanoi Opera House.

The programme drew the participation of President Vo Van Thuong, former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and representatives of Van Cao’s family, among others.

The show brought together the top vocalists of Vietnam's modern music such as People's Artists Quang Tho and Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artists Dang Duong and Thanh Lam, and singers Tung Duong, My Linh, Tran Thu Ha, Lan Anh, Vu Thang Loi, Dao To Loan, Nam Khanh and Yvol.

The programme featured the most outstanding songs of musician Van Cao's career, one of the greatest composers in Vietnam.

The songs were reproduced creatively with many modern art techniques under the choreography of Director Do Bao.

One of the impressive songs in the programme was “Ca ngoi Ho Chu tich” (Praising President Ho) with the combination of two veteran vocalists bearing the colours of two eras, creating a unique feature for the song.

In addition to the spectacular performances with the choir and the Sun Symphony Orchestra, there were also songs that were performed in a simple and rustic way.

The crew of the programme also surprised audiences with a performance in front of the Hanoi Opera House, recreating the scene of the victorious army force taking over Hanoi on the Liberation Day of the Capital.

The most emotional performance is the song of the National Anthem with the combination of youth, heroic sound and sacred and emotional spirit.

Singers perform the song "Dan chim Viet" to close the programme.

The harmony of singers of many ages, generations, and geographical areas brought an art programme closest to the musical spirit of musician Van Cao.
