The Vietnam Military History Museum has launched a nationwide visual arts campaign on the theme of the armed forces and revolutionary war for 2026-2030, opening a new chapter in the creation and promotion of artworks about the military and the nation’s revolutionary history.
The campaign seeks to inspire painters and sculptors to explore Vietnam’s historical and cultural heritage, the patriotic spirit, the traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the cause of national defense.
It also aims to enrich the cultural and spiritual life of soldiers while bringing military-themed art closer to the public.

Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, speaks at the launch of the 2026-2030 visual arts campaign.
Speaking at the launch on August 28, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Chairman of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, described the campaign as a meaningful opportunity to awaken the creative potential of artists and produce works of lasting ideological and artistic value.
He emphasized that artistic creation should place “ideological depth and humanistic values at the center,” while continuing to renew the image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the new era.
To also called on artists to approach revolutionary war themes with fresh artistic thinking, avoiding mere illustration, imitation or repetition of familiar images. He encouraged innovation in artistic language and forms of expression while preserving national cultural identity.

Senior Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, launches the 2026-2030 national visual arts campaign.
“The campaign should create conditions for painters and sculptors to reach the living sources of the armed forces,” he said, expressing his hope that the campaign would generate works that are strong in thought, rich in content, compelling in artistic expression and able to endure over time.
The campaign will feature painting, graphic art and sculpture, with outstanding works selected for exhibitions and national awards in the 2026-2030 period.
