(News) - A photo exhibition marking the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in Laos (October 30, 1949-2019) opened at the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum in the Lao capital of Vientiane on October 25.

Among the attendants were Sen. Lieut. Gen. Thongloy Silivong, Deputy Defence Minister and Director of the Lao People’s Army (LPA) General Department of Politics; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung; and Vietnamese Defence Attache in Laos Colonel Tao Van Thai, among others.
The exhibition, which is being held by the Lao Ministry of National Defence, showcases 300 photos and materials featuring the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts operating in Laos during 1945-1954, the Laotian-Vietnamese coalition living and fighting together in the past resistance war against the US invaders for national liberation (1955-1975), and the Vietnam-Laos relations in the period of national construction, development and protection (1976-presesnt).

The event aims to help the Lao people and international friends understand more about the noble and pure international spirit of Vietnamese volunteers and experts in fulfilling their international obligations to help the Lao people in their revolutionary career and national construction cause.
The exhibition also offers an occasion for the Lao people and the Vietnamese community living and working in Laos to better understand the traditional relations and the unique special solidarity between the two brotherly countries, thereby continuing to build on and further enhance such a great friendship.
The exhibition will last until the end of 2019.
