In a remarkable show of solidarity, people across Vietnam are uniting to support those affected by the recent storms and floods in the north.
The spirit of mutual aid is resonating throughout the country as individuals and organizations engage in acts of kindness.
Typhoon No. 3 (or Yagi) has caused significant devastation, impacting not only the mountainous regions like Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, and Yen Bai but also reaching areas such as Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, and the outskirts of Hanoi.

During these challenging times, the spirit of unity has emerged, transforming the community into a cohesive force determined to overcome adversity. From donating food and essential supplies to participating in rescue efforts and home repairs, the Vietnamese people are demonstrating their commitment to supporting one another.
Notable contributions include those from individuals, artists, retirees, and students who have come together to assist flood victims in the north, spreading messages of love and mutual support.
A standout example is Professor Dr. Le Ngoc Thach, an adjunct lecturer from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Science under the Vietnam National University, who donated VND1 billion ($40,800) to the Tuoi Tre newspaper for flood relief efforts. His gesture exemplifies the spirit of solidarity among the Vietnamese people.
Additionally, fifth-grade student Mai Duc Gia Bao from Hoang Hoa Tham Primary School in Ho Chi Minh City used his savings to help peers in the flood-affected areas. His donation of over VND9.4 million ($384) has been successfully sent to the Central Relief Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Bao hoped that his friends will soon recover and return to school after the floods pass.
