The Wallpaper, a magazine from the UK, has just presented the Best New Private House Award to “Bat Trang House”, an environmentally friendly house project designed by Vietnamese architect Vo Trong Nghia.
The house is situated in Bat Trang pottery village on the outskirts of Hanoi, an area renowned for its ceramics production.

The house construction was completed in October 2020 on an area of 220 sq.m. It was originally designed for an affluent artisanal family that produces high-quality ceramic products.
Using a 2-layer vertical facade system in the middle that has small gardens, the architects have utilized an effective approach to architecture. There is a living space inside the house, on one hand; the façade aims to attract business people to rent on the other hand.
