While touring Asia, the theatre will present A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
A Midsummer Night's Dream is Shakespeare's most popular comedy, following the fortunes of a quartet of lovers who are lured into the forest by fairies who trick them with a magic potion that forces them to fall in love with the first person they see.
This hilarious comedy explores the madness of love and laughs at human folly and contains some of the finest poetry that Shakespeare ever wrote, slapstick comedy, touching love scenes and theatrical magic.
TNT’s production, which delivers Shakespeare in an easy to understand format, even for those who have English as a second language, has been an extraordinary global success, performing hundreds of times across the world.
The production is directed by Paul Stebbings and performed by five artists including Samantha Jean Hazel, Samuel Michale Beresford, Darryl Ryan Marc, Aimee Leigh and Martha Caidan.
TNT Theatre was founded in the 1980's and has performed at many theatres and venues around the world such as the Royal National Theatre London; the National Theatre of Scotland; Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica; National Centre for Performing Arts Beijing; Tokyo Metropolitan arts space and Akademie der Kunst Berlin.
The theatre group performed in Vietnam for the first time in 2009 and last year put on performances of Romeo & Juliet in Da Nang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. TNT Theatre will have two shows at 11am and 8pm at the Hanoi Opera House on May 21 and at Ho Chi Minh City Municipal Theatre on May 23. In Da Nang, the show will take place at 8pm on May 24 at Nguyen Hien Dinh Theatre.
