The art program “Verses Shaping the Image of the Nation”, held on August 14 at the Army Radio - Television Center in Hanoi, showcased typical works of Vietnamese revolutionary poetry across different periods.
Attending the event were General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defence, along with hundreds of veterans, soldiers, artists, students, and literature lovers.

The two-hour performance traced the historical journey of revolutionary poetry, from the day Nguyen Ai Quoc (later known as President Ho Chi Minh) set out to seek ways for national salvation, through the resistance wars against the French colonialists and the US imperialists, the border wars, and into the peaceful present.

Poetry was portrayed not merely as a personal sentiment but as a shared voice of the nation, a spiritual weapon for soldiers, and a mirror reflecting the soul and struggles of the Vietnamese people.
The evening featured passionate poetry recitations by People’s Artists Van Chuong, Ta Tuan Minh, and Vuong Ha; Meritorious Artist Khuat Quynh Hoa, and other performers including Ngoc Tho, The Anh, Nguyen Thanh Huong, Tong Minh Tung, and Truong Tuan Vu. Musical interludes were presented by People’s Artist Hong Hanh, singers Viet Danh, Tong Linh, and the Vietnam Military Music and Dance Theatre.

Audience members also heard reflections from poets Nguyen Khoa Diem, Vuong Trong, and Pham Sy Sau, sharing the stories behind works that have accompanied the nation through its struggles and triumphs.

Organized by the Military Arts Magazine in collaboration with the People’s Army Publishing House, the Vietnam Military Music and Dance Theatre, and the Military Radio and Television Center, the program served as a tribute to past generations and a message to the youth to cherish their heritage and continue the legacy.
Beyond Hanoi, the event will be staged in Tuy Hoa (the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak), Con Dao Island (Ho Chi Minh City) to mark the nation’s major anniversaries.
