She received the award during a recent ceremony held in Hanoi to review the HWA’s operations in 2019 and admit its new members.
This year, the HWA honoured writer Khue for her positive achievements and contributions to literature both in the capital city and in the country at large.
Khue was born in 1949 and participated in the resistance war against the US in 1965. She worked as a reporter for many newspapers and started her work in the literary field in 1969.
Up to now, she has published nearly 20 novels and short stories at home and abroad, receiving multiple prestigious literary awards from Vietnam’s authorities and from ASEAN.
In addition to the Lifetime Literary Achievement Award, the HWA also presented this year’s literary awards to two other works, and admitted an additional 36 members to the association at the ceremony.
