The 4th international conference on Vietnamese literature and the 3rd International Poetry Festival wrapped up in Hanoi on February 20 after five days of diverse activities.

Chairman of the Vietnam Writers’ Association Huu Thinh said that seminars and symposiums took place in an open manner during the past days, under which delegates reached a high consensus on the necessity of seeking measures to promote typical Vietnamese works to the world.
Participants also highlighted difficulties that Vietnam should overcome to boast its literature to the world, including the language difference, the mobilisation of resources, and the regular update on Vietnam's literature situation, among others.
The Vietnam Writers’ Association received proposals and initiatives from international friends to work out best solutions to introduce Vietnamese literature values to international readers.
Poet Huu Thinh said that over the past five days Vietnam became a venue of world poetry. He added that the events taking place in Vietnam conveyed a common message to writers and people worldwide of a world of peace, friendliness, cooperation, friendship, and mutual trust to fight against all dangers and crimes.
The 4th international conference on Vietnamese literature and the 3rd International Poetry Festival were held together with the 17th Vietnam Poetry Day in Hanoi, Quang Ninh and Bac Giang from February 16 to 21, attracting the participation of large numbers of writers, poets and translators from across the world.
At the closing ceremony, the Organising Board presented 30 medals to domestic and foreign writers, poets, and translators who contributed to the development of Vietnamese literature and poetry in the international arena.
