The festival will take place from November 22 to 26 in the central province of Nghe An, concluding with an award ceremony to honor outstanding performances on November 26.
This event is part of celebrations for Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage Day on November 23 and marks the 10th anniversary of the UNESCO recognition of Vi Giam folk singing as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Performances will focus on themes celebrating the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, love for the homeland, the beauty of nature, and the unique cultural values of different regions. Audiences can expect a variety of folk-art performances, including traditional musical instruments, folk dances and others.
Bui Ky Da, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts, said that the festival provides a platform for artisans and performers to meet, exchange experiences, and enhance the preservation of traditional folk arts among Vietnam's diverse ethnic communities.
With thousands of years of history and a rich cultural heritage, Vietnam boasts nine UNESCO World Natural Heritage sites and 15 Intangible Cultural Heritage listings, contributing significantly to the diversity of global heritage.
