Two photo books, "To quoc ben bo song" (The Homeland by the Waves) and "Bac Ho voi Ba Dinh" (Uncle Ho with Ba Dinh), were unveiled to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Hanoi's liberation on October 10, 1954.
These publications feature iconic images that highlight the sacred sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands, as well as President Ho Chi Minh's interactions with the Ba Dinh Party Committee, local government, and the people.

The book “To quoc ben bo song” includes 153 outstanding works awarded in a national artistic photography competition organized by the Central Propaganda Department in collaboration with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Photographers' Association.
The competition aimed to showcase the natural beauty and potential of Vietnam's coastal and island regions to a broad audience, both domestically and internationally, while raising public awareness of the importance of seas and islands in national defense and construction.
This initiative also serves to promote the Party's and State's policies, as well as local efforts to implement the Resolution of 13th National Party Congress and Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW from the 8th plenary of 12th Party Central Committee, which focuses on the sustainable development strategy for Vietnam's maritime economy by 2030, with a vision toward 2045.
These works go beyond mere documentation; they instill a deep sense of sovereignty over the seas and islands among the Vietnamese people.
“Bac Ho voi Ba Dinh” captures the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam's independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The pages immerse readers in the lively atmosphere of the first Independence Day, celebrating President Ho Chi Minh's significant contributions to the fight for national independence and unity.
Through carefully selected photographs, the book authentically portrays President Ho Chi Minh's legacy in Ba Dinh and the affection that the people of Ba Dinh hold for their beloved leader.
Together, these two books ignite patriotism, foster solidarity, and instill a sense of responsibility among citizens in building, protecting, and developing the nation.
