(News) - Visitors will have a chance to explore and understand more about Vietnam’s traditional weaving at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area, Hanoi’s Son Tay town, from July 1 to 31.
With the theme ‘Summer Taste’, the programme features the participation of nearly 100 people belong to 13 ethnic groups, such as Tay, Dao, Mong, Thai, Muong, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Co Tu, Ba Na, Xo Dang, RagLai, E De, Khmer from 12 localities.
A string of activities will be organised during this month to entertain children. Children will have an opportunity to enjoy performances and exhibitions of traditional musical instruments and even how to play them. They can also take part in folk games of ethnic minorities and contests involving writing, drawing and other activities.
In addition, visitors, especially small groups of tourists, will experience traditional brocade weaving by the Thai, Muong and Kho Mu ethnic groups; Mong people; Zeng weaving of the Ta Oi ethnic group, which were recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the weaving of the Ede and Ba Na ethnic groups.
