The classical ballet Giselle was performed by the Ural Opera Ballet Theatre with the accompaniment of the Sun Symphony Orchestra at the Hanoi Opera House on June 12 to mark both the Russian National Day and Russia Year in Vietnam.

The performance saw the presence of Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, VTV General Director and Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association Tran Binh Minh, and Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov.
Addressing the event, the Russian Ambassador said that the performance of the ballet is an opportunity for the Vietnamese public to learn more about Russia's rich culture, noting that the two countries are diversifying the comprehensive strategic partnership with practical activities.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Minister Mai Tien Dung congratulated the Russian Ambassador to Vietnam and sent his best wishes to Russian leaders and people on their National Day.
He also congratulated Russian people for gaining many achievements in their national construction and development while expressing his belief that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries will be further strengthened.
On the occasion, Ambassador Konstantin Vnukovpresented the badge “For the contribution to international cooperation” from the Russian Foreign Ministry to VTV General Director Tran Binh Minh.
Giselle is one of the most important ballets in the history of this art. The ballet features the history of a sincere but deceived love.
