An art programme was broadcast live at the same time in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, the northern province of Tuyen Quang, the central province of Nghe An, and southern Dong Thap province on May 18 evening to mark the 130th birth anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19).

The programme “Ho Chi Minh, Sang ngoi y chi Viet Nam” (Ho Chi Minh, Shining the Will of Vietnam) was jointly held by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, the Vietnam Television and the five localities.
The event saw the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man, among others.
It was part of a series of the activities in celebration of the late leader’s 130th birthday.
President Ho Chi Minh was born on May 19, 1890, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. He devoted his whole life to the cause of national liberation, while tirelessly striving for peace and progress around the world.
He also led the struggle for national independence and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in 1945. The President passed away in 1969.
