The Vietnam Women's Museum presided and coordinated with the Vietnam Women's Union and Dien Bien Provincial Women’s Union to organise the photo exhibition themed “Women with Dien Bien”, which officially opened on March 4.
The event was attended by former Vice President Truong My Hoa.
The exhibition was divided into three main parts, including: “Great Contributions to the Dien Bien Phu Victory”, “For a Developed Dien Bien”, and “Dien Bien – the Rendezvous of the Future”.
Speaking at the opening ceremony for the exhibition, Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union, Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, stressed that it is impossible not to mention the substantial role of Vietnamese women during the historical Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Along with the soldiers, women of the Tay, Muong, Thai, Mong and other ethnic groups actively participated in both front and rear work.

The glorious historical tradition of Vietnamese women has been inherited and followed by many generations through numerous activities, programmes and projects of the Vietnam Women's Union.
During the period of integration and development, many of the key projects launched by the Union also targeted the frontline fulcrums of Dien Bien Province towards caring for vulnerable groups, such as ethnic minority women and children.
Following the exhibition’s opening, the delegates attend a fair featuring 24 booths with more than 200 safe and typical agricultural products, products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme, and traditional handicrafts of Dien Bien Province.
Also, the same day, Dien Bien Provincial Women’s Union launched a campaign to propagate and educate patriotism; honour and deeply express gratitude to the generations who sacrificed for the struggle for national liberation; promote the spirit of solidarity, internal strength, and determination; and strengthen trust in the leadership of the Party and State.
The Provincial Union also launched an online contest to learn about the Dien Bien Phu Victory from March 4-29.
