An artistic program titled “The North-South Promise” was held at Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium on April 22 to mark the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day.
The program was organized by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the Hanoi People’s Committee.

The program left a strong impression on viewers with its stunning performances and immersive sound effects.
The show featured a grand stage symbolizing the North and South, with the iconic Hien Luong Bridge at its center. Through modern soundscapes and laser lighting, audiences witnessed dramatic recreations of wartime moments, soldiers marching through the Truong Son Forest, tanks storming the Independence Palace, and boats crossing the Ben Hai River.
Onstage appearances of original T-54 tanks and military trucks further brought history to life, offering younger generations a vivid portrayal of war and sacrifice. Musical performances and stage sketches by hundreds of artists paid tribute to the nation’s resistance and honored those who laid down their lives for independence.

“Five brothers on one tank” performed by a male vocal ensemble.
A poignant highlight was the “North-South Promise” journey by 120 war veterans, retracing historic battle sites from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Their stories, projected during the performance, moved the audience with memories of shared hardship and resilience.
The evening concluded with 15-minute fireworks display set to the rousing anthem “Nhu co Bac Ho trong ngay vui dai thang” (As if Uncle Ho was with us on the great victory day”, underscoring the program’s message of unity, gratitude, and national pride.
