An exhibition commemorating 80 years of culture and arts of the Vietnam People’s Army was held from December 20-22 at the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi.
The program, themed “The Epic Song of Soldier-Artists,” showcased various cultural and artistic activities, including displays of military arts, performances by art troupes, collective dance routines, military music parades, film screenings, interactive experiences, and interactions with prominent artists.
The event featured notable attendees, including General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Politburo, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense; Sen. Lieut. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission, and Chairman of the Vietnam People’s Army’s General Department of Politics; and others. At the opening ceremony of the event last week, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet highlighted the pivotal role of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 80 years. He noted that under the leadership of the Party and the Ministry of National Defense, generations of “soldier-artists” have fostered a vibrant cultural force that encouraged public participation in the struggle for national liberation and reunification.
He added that the military serves as a cradle for talented commanders while nurturing the skills of “soldier-artists.” With significant achievements, the culture and arts of the military have become a vital part of Vietnam’s revolutionary cultural landscape.
Quyet expressed his hope that the exhibition would be a “red address” igniting the spirits of the Vietnamese people, fostering love for their homeland, and celebrating the enduring bond between the military and the public, as well as the 80-year legacy of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The exhibition aims to preserve and advance Vietnamese culture and arts, while embracing national identity and enriching the cultural values of Vietnam’s revolutionary era.
