Throughout the festival, approximately 20 events and activities will be held, with the main events scheduled from November 22 to 24 at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Art in Vincom Royal City, Hanoi.
This exciting lineup includes two panels on November 23: “Exploring the Potential of the Vietnamese Animation Market from Local to Global" and “Animation Art in the Digital Age.” A project market and tours to explore the evolution of Vietnamese animation will also take place from November 22 to 24.
This event coincides with the 65th anniversary of Vietnamese animation, celebrated during the month marking 65 years since its inception (November 9, 1959 - November 9, 2024).
As part of the festival, the “Aspiration in Animation Awards” will be presented in three categories: Animation Script, Animation Character, and Animated Film. The final judging panel will consist of leading experts from both domestic and international fields, representing government agencies, private enterprises, and artistic organizations.
The festival will showcase a vibrant selection of captivating animated films, featuring both Vietnamese and international works from various producers across the country, with diverse genres, production techniques, and lengths.
Notable Vietnamese animated films to be screened include "The Mischievous Seal," "The Magical Bathtub," "Wolfoo and the Mysterious Island,” and others.
Additionally, international animated films such as "Niscola - In Search of Happiness," "The Prince's Adventure," "Short Films About the Cunning Fox," "The Triplets of Belleville," and "Hello World" will also be featured for local audiences.
At the event, the Sconnect Academy of Media Arts (SAMA) signed an agreement with the Vietnam National University to launch a new training program for animation professionals. This initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of elite artists in the animation industry.
The animation division at SAMA will equip students with comprehensive knowledge of the entire production process, from pre-production to post-production and idea development to film release. The facility is dedicated to training skilled animators and nurturing future artists with solid expertise, creative thinking, and refined skills, aiming to enhance the visibility of Vietnamese animation both nationally and internationally.
