Artists from 18 provinces and cities nationwide will compete in the first national music festival of 2022 slated for March 10-12 at Dak Lak provincial Cultural Center in Buon Ma Thuot city, according to the Vietnam Musicians’ Association.

The festival is organized specially for music composers, artists, and music-lovers. Such an event has taken place in different areas in the country, including the Central Highlands and Southern Central regions, and several Northern provinces and cities.
Entries for this year’s festival should praise the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the Fatherland, Vietnamese sea and islands, Vietnam’s achievements in protecting national sea and islands, and in building new-style rural areas.
The organizers welcome compositions on folk music typical for each region, especially that of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
Entries could be songs, ensembles or domestic and western musical instrument solo.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be a seminar themed “Central Highlands’ folk music in today’s musical life,” which aims to find out ways to create musical works that are in tune with the current life and in honor of the unique identity of folk and traditional music of the Central Highlands ethnic groups.
The opening, closing, and awarding ceremonies will be broadcast live by the Dak Lak Television.
