Within the framework of Photo Hanoi'23 International Photography Biennale project, the exhibition "In Search of Lost Time Searching" took place at Mo Art Space in Hanoi from May 5 to May 31.
Impressions of time through photography
Speaking at the exhibition, Thierry Vergon, Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy and Director of the French Institute in Hanoi, shared that artists were people who contribute to promote cultural exchange, bringing individuals and countries closer.
Through the event, Thierry Vergon hoped that Vietnamese and international artists would have the opportunity to exchange and set up dialogues about time through the photography. The exhibition also displays the interest of Vietnam and France to artists on their creative journey.
"In Search of Lost Time Searching" displays the works of 10 photographers of different generations, both at home and abroad. They have a dialogue and give their own perspective on time through art projects.
The theme of the exhibition is inspired by the novel series "In Search of Lost Time" by French writer Marcel Proust. The work was once voted as one of the 10 most loved novels of the 20th century and ranked 8th in Time Magazine’s 10 greatest books of all time.
The photos displayed at the exhibition are not just memories, experiences, or dreams, they are also moments captured by artists through personal lenses.
