A total of 128 outstanding journalistic works, including a piece from the Military Arts Magazine, were honored at the 19th National Press Awards Ceremony in 2024 held over the weekend in Hanoi.
The event was part of the nationwide celebrations for the 100th anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press (1925-2025).
This year, the jury selected 183 finalists from nearly 2,000 submissions. Among the winners were 13 first prizes (A), 27 second (B), 49 third (C), and 39 consolation prizes.

Military Arts Magazine received a C prize, alongside other military press units, including A and B awards for the People’s Army Newspaper and the People’s Army Cinema.
For the first time, the awards included two new categories: Multimedia Journalism and Creative Journalism, recognizing technologically advanced, multi-platform productions that remain accurate, timely, and socially impactful.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised generations of journalists for their contributions to the nation’s revolutionary cause.
He emphasized the press’ enduring role as a sharp ideological and cultural tool, inspiring development and national unity.

He called on journalists to embrace innovation and digital transformation, enhance the press's role as a public forum, and promote integrity and constructive dialogue.

Amid challenges from social media and new media formats, the prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting a vibrant, professional press sector.
Chinh encouraged journalists to remain committed, courageous, and dedicated, acting as “cultural and ideological soldiers” in building a prosperous, humane, and united Vietnam.
