The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 attracted more than 240 domestic and international defense units and enterprises showcasing a diverse range of defense products at Gia Lam Airport.
Prominent defense corporations from advanced military industries, including Russia, India, Israel, China, the US... participated in the event.
Vietnam is represented by 69 types of equipment and weapons from 77 units, highlighting the achievements in “self-reliant defense industry.” Notable participants include the Viettel Group, as well as factories Z111, Z113, Z131, and Z175, and companies under the Ministry of National Defense.
For the first time, several high-tech defense products developed and manufactured by Vietnam’s defense industry are being displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibition holds special significance as a prominent international event, conveying a message of peace, cooperation, and mutual development. It aims to enhance diplomatic relations and defense cooperation across various fields, promoting peace, stability, collaboration, and development both regionally and globally. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the opening ceremony. In his remarks, Chinh emphasized that the event reaffirms Vietnam’s role and contributions to international defense cooperation. He described the exhibition as a symbol of trust, respect, and goodwill among nations for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous world, showcasing the support and affection from international friends towards Vietnam and its heroic People's Army.
International and Vietnamese defense representatives press the button to inaugurate the exhibition on December 19. Lieut. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission, visits the Viettel Group's booth.
