The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army awarded 208 prizes for outstanding works on the armed forces and revolutionary war at a ceremony held on April 15 in Hanoi.
Among the 208 winning entries, 30 received A prizes, 43 B prizes, 59 C prizes, and 76 consolation prizes. The works covered a wide range of topics and formats, portraying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, national cultural identity, military traditions, and the thoughts and emotions of today’s servicemen and women.
Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, Permanent member of the Central Military Commission and Director of the General Department of Political Affairs, presents A prizes to individual and group authors at the ceremony.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs and Head of the Award Steering Committee, emphasized that the winning works were selected from 3,463 entries submitted over the past five years. He called this an impressive figure that reflects the creative dedication and strong sense of responsibility of the “soldier-artists” on the ideological and cultural front.
To also launched the next phase of the Awards for Literary, Artistic, and Press Works on the Armed Forces and Revolutionary War, which will run from 2026 to 2030.
Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, presents B prizes to individual and group authors.
He expressed confidence that authors will continue to contribute meaningful works that inspire military personnel with a spirit of devotion and action for the nation, the people, and the cause of safeguarding the homeland.

As the standing body for organizing and promoting literature on the armed forces and revolutionary war, the Military Literature Magazine has regularly hosted writing camps and specialized competitions. The magazine has also supported publication and consistently featured selected works in its print editions.
