A photo exhibition, displaying 30 black and white photographs which are precious photographs on famous Vietnamese artists, opened on February 22 at Ngon Garden, No. 70 Nguyen Du Street, Hanoi.

The photos were taken by photographer Ha Tuong, who is a veteran Hanoi photographer for 20 years, from 1975 – 1995. They are the photos on musicians Van Cao and Trinh Cong Son; poets Nguyen Dinh Thi, Huu Loan, Te Hanh, Huy Can and To Huu; writers Kim Lan, Nguyen Tuan, Historian - cultural researcher Dao Duy Anh, art critic Thai Ba Van, historian Tran Quoc Vuong, ethnologist Tu Chi; famous artists such as Tran Van Can, Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Duong Bich Lien, Nguyen Sang, Bui Xuan Phai, Phan Ke An and Luu Cong Nhan.
On the occasion, the photo book with 150 valuable photos on famous Vietnamese artists was released to readers.
Painters Le Thiet Cuong, who is responsible for producing the photo book as well as selecting the photos displayed at the exhibition, said that he is a painter, but he has a special passion for photography, so when he knew about the huge amount of material regarding famous Vietnamese artists of photographer Ha Tuong, he thought that these are such rare photos, and so he wanted to make a photo book as well as organising exhibitions to introduce them to the public.
Photographer Ha Tuong was born in 1942. His lens has captured most of the typical artist faces from literature, poetry, journalism, translation, painting, theater, film to scholars, scientists, philosophers, history and ethnography.
The photo exhibition will be on display until March 3, 2020.
