The Management Board of Hoa Lo Prison Relic on October 5 opened an exhibition entitled “Song of victory,” as part of activities in celebration of the 68th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2022).

The exhibition spotlights the glorious combat of Hanoi’s troops and people during arduous years of resistance war, emotions and joys recorded 68 years ago when troops advanced to the capital city, important changes of Hanoi and the whole nation since that vital historical moment, as well as the pride of and gratitude for those who sacrificed their lives for the beloved capital city.
Focusing on three contents of the enduring resistance war, the day of victory, and our Hanoi, the displayed images and exhibits will help visitors learn more about the atmosphere in the capital city on the liberation day, the strongly-developing student movements, and lives of Vietnamese prisoners of war at Hoa Lo prison. All troops and people at that time shared the same belief that the capital city would defeat the enemy.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, delegates had an opportunity to experience the joyful atmosphere of the capital liberation day 68 years ago through the reappearance of the images of mothers and girls in the Ao dai (traditional long dress of Vietnam) welcoming troops. In the space decorated with flags and flowers, delegates altogether sang the song “Advancing to Hanoi” written by composer Van Cao.
