Tet Festival 2020 will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from January 3-5, providing people and visitors with interesting experiences of the Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere.

The festival will feature five main activities, featuring the rituals, food, entertainment activities of the Lunar New Year.
Important rituals, such as a ceremony to erect Cay Neu (a tall bamboo tree), the worshipping of ancestors, a ceremony to welcome Giao Thua (New Year’s Eve), and chuc Tet (New Year greetings), will be reproduced to help visitors, particularly children, learn more about the traditional Tet festival.
Visitors will have the chance to enjoy typical Tet dishes from the northern, central and southern regions.
Folk games, including tug of war, blindfolded pot smashing, and many other collective games, will also be organised in various areas.
In addition, performances of the lion dance, Vovinam (Vietnamese traditional martial arts) and magic, as well as art programmes with traditional musical instruments, are expected to attract a large number of visitors.
Additionally, a market space will be arranged with 100 booths displaying and selling essential items for Tet.
Tet Festival 2020 will open from 10am to 9pm each day and is expected to welcome over 40,000 visitors.
