General Secretary To Lam called on artists to actively contribute to the strategic goals set for the next century, under the leadership of the Party and in the context of the upcoming centennial of the nation's founding.
In his address at a gathering with representatives from the artistic community last week, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the primary mission of revolutionary artists is to cultivate cultural identity and build a socialist society.
He urged artists to stay connected to the people, engage with national life, and address complex issues in communities. This includes reaching out to remote areas and minority regions to discover new factors and challenges. Artists should actively and responsibly participate in social tasks.

The General Secretary called for a significant overhaul of leadership methods to enable artists to engage deeply with the nation's realities. He emphasized the need to foster patriotism in efforts to build and protect the country.
He also proposed reforms in the policies for recognizing and utilizing the talents of artists, ensuring these processes are comprehensive, rigorous, scientific, impartial, transparent, and timely.
During the conference, attendees expressed their honor and confidence in the Party's leadership and the State's governance, which aims to facilitate the growth of the artistic community. They pledged to contribute even more to meet the demands of national development in this new era.
In his remarks, Colonel and writer Nguyen Binh Phuong, Editor-in-Chief of the Military Literature Magazine and Vice President of the Vietnam Writers' Association, suggested the need for community and state collaboration to promote valuable literary works both domestically and internationally. He also advocated for the establishment of a translation research institute to support the development of the cultural industry, including literature.
Additionally, Do Lenh Hung Tu, President of the Vietnam Cinema Association, proposed several solutions to address the bottlenecks in public-private partnerships within the cultural sector. This includes enhancing the distribution of films produced with state funding and establishing a fund to support the development of cinema.
